Vermont: Penalty for Vermont Saves Increases

Effective October 1, 2026, the noncompliance penalty for Vermont Saves increased from $20 per eligible employee to $75 per employee per calendar year. Employers with 2 or more W-2 employees who have been in business for two or more years are required to enroll eligible employees in Vermont Saves or offer a qualified retirement plan. Covered employers must register with the state or obtain an exemption.
